How do I choose a landscaper for my yard?
Deciding to remodel your yard is probably the easiest decision of the whole process. Next comes the hardest. Choosing wich company you want for your project.
Most common thing people do is google. Now you have an almost endless list of landscaper in your area. Before you spend time scrolling through very single one try narrowing down your search to the specific service that you need. Whether it’s “fence builder near me” or “paver install in my area”. Not all landscapers can do everything, most have there specialty that they are pros at and sub-contract the rest of the work tha they might not be 100% comfortable with.
Once you have one that catches your eye do some research on the company. Today with social media like facebook and instagram its easy to see pictures or videos of project they have done.
See if they have a good review ratings. But I will say they might not be the most accurate. They might have there grandma give them a 5star review as a favor or someone give them a 1star review just out of hatred. But still go through them see if the owner responds wich is a good sign. But do stay a way from the company’s with low rating.
Once you have several that you are interested in whether it’s 3 or 6 try setting up in person meetings for estimates. Most companies offer the first meetup for free so it’s up to you how many you want to have. The only thing it will cost you is your time so don’t be afraid to do as many as you want.
The meetings are probably the most important part of choosing your contractor. Its always important you feel comfortable with the contractor because this is the person your going to let onto your property for weeks maybe months. If you end up choosing the wrong contractor it could cost you double or more trying to fix any problems they might cause. Make sure you are asking questions and they engage with you instead of just taking measurements, leaving and telling you that they will send you an estimate soon.
Remodels should be a fun process. Choosing the correct contractor will save you from being left with a half done yard unable to use.
